Trap zap cop sting

A BUSINESSMAN who fitted a “laser jammer” to the front of his BMW to dodge speed trap cameras has been jailed.

Michael Twizell, 58, used the device to block signals which track how fast a car is travelling.

Police nicked Twizell after their device recorded an error code as he drove past them on the A658 near Harrogate last February.

Twizell, of Dewsbury, West Yorks, pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice and was fined £1,500 and jailed for three months at York Crown Court.

Police have warned other motorists that they face prison for using jammers.
