BRITISH horses were yesterday cleared to race in Ireland – the first sign the equine flu crisis may be over.The Irish Horseracin­g Regulatory Board said it would allow UK runners despite tests finding four new cases. They tested positive at flat trainer Simon Crisford’s Newmarket yard over the weekend.All UK race meetings have been cancelled. But horses racing at Naas in Ireland on Saturday are pictured above.Last night BHA officials were meeting to decide if racing can resume tomorrow. More than a dozen meetings have been scrapped – including the Super Saturday event at Newbury. Bookmakers are said to be losing £2million a day and have seen share prices plunge.They were taking bets on when racing will resume.
