Philip to carry on driving
PRINCE Philip will carry on motoring around the Queen’s private estates – despite giving his licence up after a serious crash.
He gave up his right to drive weeks after his Land Rover Freelander was in an accident with a Kia which had two women and a baby inside.
Both women were injured in the crash, near Sandringham, Norfolk, while the nine-month-old and Philip were unhurt.
Despite voluntarily handing the DVLA his licence back on Saturday, it seems the 97-year-old is not giving up his keys yet.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: “If the Duke does drive on private land in future this will, of course, be in accordance with all relevant regulations.”
Norfolk Police have submitted a file to the Crown Prosecution Service, which will decide whether to prosecute the Queen’s husband.
