Jail drug blunder

A PRISON hit by violence and suspected drug deaths was promised scanning equipment – only for it to be sent to another jail.

Managers at Durham Prison were “frustrated” by the decision to move the hi-tech gadgets, said an HM Inspectorate Of Prisons report.

The report said there had been seven self-inflicted deaths at the jail in the previous two years.
