Alesha trial plea

A TEENAGE boy accused of raping and murdering a six-year-old girl on the Isle of Bute has pleaded not guilty and blamed a woman for the crimes.

The body of Alesha MacPhail was found in woods on July 2 last year.

The unnamed 16-year-old boy, who is on trial in Glasgow, denies abducting and killing Alesha.

His defence lawyer lodged a special defence naming a woman he says committed the offences.
