Koreans lust for whelks
KINKY Koreans are keeping Brit fishermen in business as they buy 10,000 tonnes of whelks a year to use as an aphrodisiac.
The sea snails are caught in the Bristol Channel but are often snubbed by Brits.
But 5,500 miles away the sea creatures are an essential for romance.
Fisherman Gavin Davies, from Saundersfoot, Pembrokes, says he has spent 20 years catching the shellfish for South Korea.
He said: “They taste like nan’s toenails, but it’s given me a living for the last two decades.”
