Hugo lays down the law

- By PAUL BROWN

HUGO LLORIS admits Tottenham must improve if they are to stand a chance against Borussia Dortmund tomorrow.

Spurs face the German leaders in the last-16 of the Champions League on the back of a 3-1 win over Leicester at the weekend.

But goalkeeper and captain Lloris, 32, accepts they will need to step up a gear at Wembley.

He said: “Leicester played in a fantastic way and I think we won thanks to our spirit and character.

“We need to improve the team performance.

“We won but against a bigger side we couldn’t have won that type of game.

“In terms of performance, we have to do better if we want to dream of big achievements. But in terms of mentality, spirit you cannot ask more.

“Now we need to deal with a few more games and then hopefully the squad will be full again until the end.

“First of all we need to keep our place in the top four and then maybe more. We’ll see.”

Lloris (right) added: “Dortmund play fantastic football.

“They have so many fantastic players and I’m not surprised they’re top.

“It’s going to be very, very difficult.

“We need to improve the team performance and we need the stadium to push, to help us.

“In some ways it’s difficult to deal with Wembley but hopefully in this big game we’ll receive this help from the crowd.”
