Klopp to face FA charge
ROW: Klopp with officials JURGEN KLOPP is facing an FA rap for questioning the integrity of the referee following Liverpool’s 1-1 draw at West Ham.
The Kop boss has been charged for claiming Kevin Friend’s second-half decisions were influenced by the officials failing to flag James Milner offside in the build-up to Sadio Mane’s opener for the Reds.
Klopp said: “As a human being, if I know I have made a big mistake in the first half, I don’t want to open the gap any more.
“Referees are obviously human beings and I understand that, but I didn’t during the game because I had no clue that our goal was offside.”
The German has until February 18 to respond, with any punishment likely to be a fine.
If he chooses to contest the charge an independent commission will sit.
Liverpool midfielder Fabinho, meanwhile, insists his best is yet to come as he plans to play a big role in the Reds’ Premier League title push.
The Brazil midfielder endured a slow start to life at Anfield following his £40m move from Monaco, but has since become a pivotal part of Klopp’s side.
He said: “I still have things to improve but I am happy overall with my performances. I am up to the speed of the Premier League and that was what I was looking for.”
