Beth, 22, in horror fall from 19th floor

AN ASPIRING actress could have been taking a selfie when she plunged 13 floors to her death.

Bethany-Maria Beales, 22, was at a pal’s pad after a night out when she fell from the 19th floor.

She was found “barely breathing” on a sixth-floor terrace at London’s famous Heron Tower.

An inquest yesterday heard that Bethany-Maria – known as Beth – could have been trying to take a selfie when she fell. A man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of murder but police found no evidence they were involved.

Friend Hannah Curtis told the City Of London Coroner Court that Beth had “used cocaine from time to time”. She had taken the drug in the hours before her death. Pal India Boyd said the junior sales executive had “seemed upset” about a boy. Beth’s mother Michelle Beales-Shaw said she had been “very happy”. She added: “Everything was going well for her and she was looking forward to a holiday in Ibiza. Beth was kind, funny, loyal, intelligent.”

The inquest heard that Beth, of Wimbledon, south-west London, had tried to take her own life in 2015 over the breakdown of a relationship but “immediately regretted it”.

Recording an open verdict, senior coroner Alison Hewitt said: “It’s possible she was trying to take her own life but it is equally possible it was an accident.”
