Gary is Titch of the day

GARY Lineker was once so worried about his tackle he dodged shared baths with other footballers.

The Match Of The Day host confessed that he was “embarrassed” as he did not hit puberty until he was 17 – a year after he joined Leicester City.

And the England legend was terrified that his team-mates might make fun of his manhood.

So the goal machine would try to avoid them – and duck into the dressing room shower instead.

Gary, 58, revealed: “It was uneasy for me when I first joined Leicester when I was 16 because I didn’t reach puberty until

I was 17.

“I used to hide myself and sneak in the showers out of the way very embarrassed.”

Later in his career Gary said he did not mind jumping in the tub with team-mates – unless Paul Gascoigne was there. He added: “When I played, big communal baths, everyone jumped in, you wouldn’t think twice.

“But you wouldn’t want

to get in one with Gazza –

the odd floating thing would appear. I don’t even want to think about it. “You’ve never seen baths empty so quickly in your life. He would do it – he couldn’t help himself.” Bosses at the BBC feared Gary would reveal too much when he pledged to host Match Of The Day in his undies when his beloved Leicester won the Premier League in 2016. But fans were left disappointed when he wore a pair of large boxers instead of a pair of skimpy briefs.

GARY Lineker avoided shared showers when he started playing football over fears others would laugh at his tackle. It turns out that off the pitch, the striker wasn’t all that up front.
