Teen rapist hooked on gory videos
THE evil teenager who raped and murdered Alesha MacPhail was a sadistic cat killer.
Aaron Campbell was also obsessed with gory video games.
The 16-year-old was named after a judge lifted a legal restriction at the High Court in Glasgow.
Former friends of Campbell claimed he killed and skinned cats before burying them in his back garden.
He is said to have carried out voodoo rituals and tortured a pair of cats three years ago.
The teenager also allegedly sexually assaulted one girl and showed off explicit mobile phone snaps to his pals in the months before the murder.
He is also said to have held a little girl’s head under the water at a leisure centre for so long she feared she would drown.
The depraved teen was convicted of raping and murdering six-year-old Alesha, leaving her with 117 injuries.
He abducted her at knifepoint from her bedroom at her grandparents’ home on the Isle of Bute in Scotland.
Secret
He was caught out by his mother’s CCTV as he came home in the middle of the night after the murder.
The chilling footage showed him arriving and leaving twice on the night she was abducted.
Alesha was spending a summer holiday on the island with her father Robert MacPhail, 26, and her grandparents.
Her mum, Georgina Cochrane, sent her there for a break believing she would be safer than on their estate in Airdrie, near Glasgow.
In a statement, she said: “Alesha, I love you so much, my wee pal. I will miss you forever.”
Campbell had led a secret life on the island where he lived, smoking drugs and drinking heavily. He will be sentenced on March 21.
The MacPhail family said: “We can’t believe that we will never see our wee angel Alesha again.
“We hope that the boy who took her from us is jailed for a long time because of what he has done to our family.
“Alesha will always be in our hearts.”
Alesha’s grandmother Angela King said Campbell “doesn’t deserve notoriety recognition for what he’s done”, as “that’s what he wants”.
