CORRIE STREET JACK ‘SELFIE’ ABUSE ROW
Star denies Scousers snub
DAILY STAR, Monday, March 4, 2019
CORRIE star Jack P Shepherd was accused of refusing to pose for a photo with a group of Scousers.
But the actor, who plays David Platt, denies that he turned down a request for a picture.
A woman had tweeted: “Oh well only seen @JACKPSHEPHERD88 in Manchester media city tonight with my friends asked could we get a picture with him.”
And she added: “The min he found out we were scousers his reaction was simply no.”
But Jack said he ran off because they were screaming at him.
The actor, who is from Pudsey, near Leeds, replied: “Don’t remember saying no because you were Scousers. “Didn’t even know you were.
“I simply ran off because you all started screaming from a beer garden.’’
Fans rushed to support the star, who shared the Twitter exchange on Instagram. One tweeted: “I think people make the mistake of thinking they are owed something from you just because they ‘know you from TV’. Onwards & upwards, Jack.’’ Another said: “It must be frustrating that people act like this.
“Its up to you whether you stop for people.’’
And yet another fan posted a selfie with Jack taken at the Botanist bar near the ITV soap’s Media CityUK studios.
The fan said: “Gave me one no issues. What a chap he was too.’’
