£50k scam gave me a huge buzz
CON WOMAN’S LAVISH GIFTS
CURVY fraudster Jessica Prince stole nearly £50,000 from her employer because she got a “buzz out of it”.
The selfie queen, who loved uploading raunchy snaps online, has been jailed for 20 months for flogging stolen ink cartridges on eBay.
Prince, 35, spent £10,000 on presents to impress her friends.
When she was arrested Prince told officers she “got a buzz” from treating her family and friends to nice things they could not afford, Peterborough Crown Court heard.
William Carter, defending, said: “Miss Prince’s actions were motivated by greed and a desire to live a lifestyle that she couldn’t afford.
“She would simply buy presents and other things for other people – to get their attention.” The court heard that between January and July last year Prince ordered the cartridges and worked with at least one other person to flog them online.
The secretary for engineering firm Mec-a-tec in Wisbech, Cambs, tried to cover her tracks by altering invoices. But the offences finally came to light when the firm’s accountants queried why they were buying so many of the ink cartridges.
Prince, from Wisbech, made full admissions to police when she was arrested. Mr Carter said Prince is remorseful and feels like “scum of the earth”. Jailing her, judge Matthew Lowe said: “You abused your position and the trust that went with that position by placing orders for ink cartridges for your own financial gain.”
