Todd’s dig at Hull doubters

-

TODD KANE wants to hear what Hull’s critics are saying now – after back-to-back wins put them in the play-off mix.

The defender, on loan from Chelsea, was a part of the Hull side smashed 5-1 at Brentford nine days ago.

And some thought the Yorkshire club’s play-off hopes were then dead and buried.

What followed was a lowest-ever league crowd at the KCOM Stadium of 10,191 for Hull’s 2-1 win over Millwall last Tuesday.

Then on Saturday the Tigers roared again with a deserved win to put themselves within four points of the top six.

Kane said: “People can be negative, it is entirely up to them, but we bounced back.

“The people that were being negative after the Brentford game, let’s see what they are saying now.”

Jarrod Bowen played a key part in Hull’s latest win, scoring a brace including one from the penalty spot.

There was a long delay before his penalty with Birmingham players attempting to put him off.

But he coolly finished then taunted opposition midfielder Gary Gardner.

Tottenham have been closely monitoring the progress of the winger who has now raced on to score 18 goals this campaign, something that has delighted his boss Nigel Adkins.

He said: “Jarrod has got talent. Hard work beats talent, if talent doesn’t work hard – but he works hard.”
