BEVERLY Hills 90210 star Luke Perry has died, aged 52, with his family, fiancé, ex-wife and friends at his bedside.

The former heart-throb had been taken to a California hospital from his home in Sherman Oaks just five days earlier after a stroke.

He is survived by his son Jack, 21, and daughter Sophie, 18, from his marriage to ex-wife Rachel “Minnie” Sharp.

A spokesman said yesterday: “The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning.”

Perry’s Riverdale co-star Molly Ringwald tweeted: “My heart is broken. I will miss you so much Luke Perry. Sending all my love to your family.”

Screenwriter Joss Whedon tweeted: “He shouldn’t be gone.”

And US actor Seth Green said: “Luke Perry was truly a great guy. Warm, kind, generous and hard working.”

Luke got his start with a 10-episode stint on the popular series Another World, but shot to fame in the early 1990s thanks to his role on 90210.

It ran for 10 seasons, beginning in 1990, and still lives on in reruns. Luke filmed 199 episodes.

He played the show’s leading man, the handsome loner Dylan McKay, alongside his co-stars Jennie Garth, Jason Priestley and Tori Spelling.

At the same time, he also appeared in a number of films, including the original Buffy The Vampire Slayer, The Fifth Element and Scorchers.
