STUDENT Tuna Kunt reckons her unusual name helped her to victory in an election as we reported yesterday.

After being chosen as president of her student’s union she said: “Thank you for laughing at my name,” believing it

CAN YOU SPELL THAT?

Among some of the real-life names recorded around the globe include Donald Duck, Phuc Kieu and Kash Register. There was a graduate called P. Ennis, a man who went by the name Chew Kok Long and another by Moe Lester. A Batman Bin Suparman was reported in Singapore too. An Iraqi military spokesman was called Saad Maan, there’s a US lawyer called Sue Yoo and perhaps most unfortunate of all was the teacher called Mr Perv. Other genuine names include Chris P. Bacon, Holden Butts, Crystal Methven, Jesus Condom and Mike Litoris.

BAD CALL:

A trawl of phone records by TheBabyWebsite.com found people with equally odd names such as Justin Case, Barb Dwyer, Terry Bull, Paige Turner, Mary Christmas and Anna Sasin. Other wacky examples included Rose Bush, Barry Cade, Carrie Oakey, Jo King and Stan Still, from Gloucestershire, who admitted that the name had been “a blooming millstone around my neck my entire life”. had been an ice breaker. The 23-yearold is originally from Turkey, where her name doesn’t raise an eyebrow, but in the UK it caused titters.

Yet as JAMES MOORE reveals, she’s far from being the only person with a troublesome moniker…

TITLE DEEDS: The Victorians gave some of their kids bizarre names. Genealogy firm Fraser & Fraser looked through records and found people from the time called Windsor Castle, Friendless Baxter, Leicester Railway, Time of Day, One Too Many, Zebra Lynes and Mineral Waters.

JUST POTTY:

Author Russell Ash unearthed 3,000 wacky names in his book Potty, Fartwell And Knob. After sifting through records he found people called Christmas Day, Fanny Titsworth, Iva Longbottom, Emma Royd, Rosetta Stone, Sandy Beach, Rusty Pipes, Seymour Butt, Joy Rider, Eva Faithful, Wanton Coward, Pete Sake and Ada Poo.

FANCY A CHANGE?

Some people actually change their names by deed poll to something bizarre. In the UK for example live Happy Adjustable Spanners, Luscious Lemons and Pink Sparkly. And, tastiest of all, in 2016 a man called Simon Smith from north London legally changed his name to Mr Bacon Double Cheeseburger. OH BABY!

Celebrities often give their children bizarre monikers. Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin famously called their daughter Apple, while actor Rob Morrow called his daughter Tu Morrow. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West chose North West for theirs in 2013. But that’s nothing compared to the Chinese couple who wanted to give their child the symbol @ and an Israeli couple who named their baby Like, after the Facebook button. British babies have been called Gandalf and Arsenal too.

BANNED! But some names have just been deemed too cruel. Officials in Malaysia stopped a couple calling their kid Smelly Head and the Danish ruled against parents who wanted to call their child Anus. Judges in New Zealand have also put the kybosh on Lucifer and Sex Fruit as well as Fish and Chips for twins. Nine-year-old Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii was even put in court guardianship so her name could be changed. But somehow Number 16 Bus Shelter, Violence and Midnight Chardonnay were allowed!
