Choco blocked

CADBURY has taken down a web page after it was accused of encouraging children to break the law.

The Freddo Treasures campaign urged youngsters to “grab your metal detector and go hunting for Roman riches” or “dig up Viking silver”. But Cadbury was criticised for not warning that digging without permission is illegal.

The firm said it will now focus solely on directing families to “museums where existing treasures can be found”.

A CHEERLEADER was among three teens crushed to death at a St Patrick’s Day disco.

Lauren Bullock and Morgan Barnard, both 17, and Connor Currie, 16, were killed in a “stampede” outside the venue in Northern Ireland.

Several hundred people rushed to get into the Greenvale Hotel in Cookstown, Co Tyrone, after being dropped off by buses.

One teen caught in the crush said they were trapped on the floor for 20 minutes.

He said: “There must have been 20 or 30 who fell first and then everyone else just followed. I’d say there was more than 100 who were in that queue and fell.

“I was pinned down with others on top of me. We must have been there on the ground for 20 minutes unable to move. It was absolutely terrible.

“I didn’t know what was going to happen or how I’d get out. Eventually, I was pulled out and thankfully was able to walk away.

“There were ambulances and police all around. I could see them giving one person CPR treatment.”

Lauren’s colleagues paid tribute to her, describing her as the team’s “backbone”.

A statement from Euphoria Allstar Cheerleading NI said: “My heart is broken writing this. You were the most down to earth, beautiful soul and our Coral team will never be the same without you.

“You were an incredible cheerleader and were the backbone of our team.”

The two boys were pupils at St Patrick’s Academy in Dungannon, where a prayer service was held.

A 16-year-old girl is in a stable condition in hospital, while a further two teenagers were treated for injuries they suffered during the incident.

Police are scouring CCTV footage and have appealed for mobile phone videos.

Preliminary investigations show a crush towards the front door of the 500-capacity nightlife venue.

Northern Ireland Ambulance Service medical director Dr Nigel Ruddell said everything pointed towards it being a tragic accident.

A GRAN is hoping to find the dream man she met in Benidorm. Katie Jones, of Oswestry, Shrops, fell for Steve, 66, from Leicester, who looks like actor Tim Roth.
