SOZZLED boxing legend Ricky Hatton left fans fearing for his health after he stumbled around a bar in Tenerife with his T-shirt over his head.
A BOOZED-up Ricky Hatton has been filmed staggering around a Tenerife bar with his T-shirt over his head.
The ex-boxer, 40, falls over during the 45-second clip and has to be picked up as he tries to dance to Lionel Richie’s hit All Night Long.
Ex-welterweight and light welterweight champion Ricky had been enjoying a few drinks at the Dubliner pub.
A source said: “Ricky is well known in Tenerife and visits several times a year.
“He always visits the same bars and likes a drink or two.
“It looks like he overdid it this time. He was so drunk he could barely stand.
“Sadly, it isn’t the first time this has happened.
“I hope it’s the last but I’m not holding my breath.”
The video went viral, gaining thousands of comments from worried fans.
One wrote: “Ricky Hatton struggling with retirement, pro boxing is a hard space to fill. Very upsetting to
watch. Let’s hope he gets some help. He was a top notch boxer back in the day.”
Another said: “Just seen a video of Ricky Hatton... what a fall from grace for such a great champion... sad.”
And a third commented: “All jokes aside I hope Ricky Hatton gets some help, he clearly needs it and is a bit s*** to see how far he’s fallen.” Last night a pal said the video was a “mountain out of a molehill”.
He added: “It was a few days ago, he’s on holiday, he’s with his friends.
“He’s fine. He’s just had one too many on a night out.”
HOW sad to see Ricky Hatton in such a state on holiday.
The fighter looked worse for wear during a night out and had to be hauled off the floor after one too many.
It’s distressing to see a true sporting hero like that.
Ricky was one of the finest fighters of his generation. But he has admitted to having demons in the past.
He has had a well-documented struggle with drink and drugs over the years.
And it must be difficult to find focus after you retire.
So the latest incident is worrying. But it’s worth remembering this can happen to anyone at any time. Hopefully Ricky takes the steps he needs.
