Uni scam warning

DUKE ‘BOUGHT VODKA’ FOR EPSTEIN ‘SEX SLAVE’

- By CHRISTOPHER BUCKTIN, US Editor news@dailystar.co.uk

NEW university students could be targeted by a fresh wave of tax scams.

More than 620,000 taxrelated email cons were reported to HM Revenue and Customs last year.

This included reports of emails targeting students, many using official looking “ac.uk” email endings.

The Treasury’s Jesse Norman: “HMRC is asking all UK universities to make sure students know how to protect themselves.” ■

PRINCE Andrew is alleged to have bought a 17-year-old girl vodka before having sex with her.

Virginia Giuffre says she was a “slave” of the Duke of York’s paedophile pal Jeffrey Epstein.

And she claims Andrew bought her booze at London’s Tramp nightclub knowing she was under 18 at the time.

Giving her first interview since billionaire Epstein killed himself in jail last month, the 35-year-old told of her alleged time with Andrew.

She said of the Duke: “He was an abuser. He was a participant.”

She then recalled how she was flown to London, where she was pictured with the prince, now 59, inside the home of Epstein’s alleged “madam” Ghislaine Maxwell.

Discussing the first of three occasions she claims to have had sex with Andrew, she said: “The first time in London. I was so young.

“Ghislaine woke me up in the morning and said, ‘You’re gonna meet a prince today.’

“I didn’t know at that point that I was going to be trafficked to that prince.

“That night Prince Andrew came to her house in London. We went out to Club Tramp. Prince Andrew got me alcohol, it was in the VIP section, I’m pretty sure it was vodka.

“We leave club Tramp and I hop in the car with Ghislaine and Jeffrey.

“And Ghislaine says, ‘He’s coming back to the house and I want you to do for him what you do for Epstein.’

“I couldn’t believe it.” Recalling the alleged sex, she told America’s NBC network: “He wasn’t rude or anything, he said thank you and some kind of soft sentiments like that and left. I just couldn’t believe it, I couldn’t believe even royalty were involved”.

She claims Epstein paid her £12,000 the following day.

Giuffre, formerly known as Roberts, was asked to respond to allegations she made the claims against Epstein and Andrew for money.

She said: “Unfortunately there’s this horrible law called (the) statute of limitations.

“My lawyers have told me (the way) to hold them accountable is through them calling me a liar, and I’m not. “It’s a defamation lawsuit.” The mum-of-three also spoke about the injustice she felt when Epstein, 66, managed to take his own life in a New York jail while awaiting trial for underage sex trafficking.

She said: “It was such a shock to me. I wasn’t mourning the death of this man.

“I was mourning the death of my ability to hold this man accountable.”

A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: “It is emphatically denied that the Duke of York had any form of sexual contact or relationship with Virginia Roberts.

“Any claim to the contrary is false and without foundation.”
