loungers and much more. Dogs are allowed around most of the park, including the bar and restaurant.

There are lots of great dog-friendly things to see and do nearby including markets and châteaus.

With many beautiful villages, towns and cities on your doorstep, there is no shortage of places to visit.

Make sure you go to Reims, the unofficial capital of the Champagne region, where you can visit a dogfriendly Champagne house and have a glass of fizz.

Don’t forget Paris too, of course. The capital is predictably bustling so not the best place for pets unaccustomed to busy cities.

Our dogs are used to London so it was no problem for them. We took them on a full tour including the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, L’Arc Triomphe and Champs-Élysées.

We also managed to fit in a beer before the short train trip back to base.

We had a fantastic time and are already planning a return visit.

Our dogs were allowed in restaurants, bars, shops – pretty much everywhere and we were even welcomed with a goodie bag at a tourist centre.

Little Sienna Byrne screamed as the bird tried to snatch a biscuit from her hand leaving a wound with blood streaming. Mum Hayley is now calling for a cull of the gulls to prevent further attacks.

She said: “It could have been her eye or taken her finger off or anything. It was horrendous. She was screaming, it was awful.

“There was a shocking amount of blood and skin missing off her finger.

“There should be a cull or something. There’s just so many of them. It’s frightening and there’s no warnings in place.

“I couldn’t even do anything about it.”

Hayley, of Holywell,

Flints, said it was not the first seagull attack in

Llandudno, North Wales.

She added: “You can’t enjoy anything. It’s always in Llandudno. It’s plagued by seagulls.”

But Berin Jones, of the

Llandudno hospitality association, said: “They are protected so there is, unfortunately, very little we can do about the problem”. ACTRESS Sheila Hancock’s home has been raided by burglars.

They targeted the 17th century Cotswolds cottage – nicknamed “Lucky” – that Sheila shared with actor husband John Thaw before he died in 2002.

A number of silver ornaments were stolen while the actress, 86, was away filming.

One resident in Luckington, Wilts, said: “They targeted the house – nowhere else was broken into.”

Sheila nursed Morse and The Sweeney star John there before his cancer death at the age of 60.
