Under fire Ole to go Green

OLE GUNNAR Solskjaer insists he has no fears about unleashing starlet Mason Greenwood on Arsenal next week.

Manchester United host the Gunners in a crunch showdown at Old Trafford on Monday night, when the pressure on Solskjaer will be immense.

His side have slumped to eighth in the Premier League table following just two wins this season and are out of the title race already.

They trail Liverpool by

10 points and some fans are calling for Solskjaer to be sacked.

The Norwegian was given the dreaded vote of confidence this week by executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, who insists the manager will be given the time he needs to turn things round.

But Solskjaer has not been helped by the fact strikers Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are both injured. They are expected to miss the visit of the Gunners, leaving Solskjaer with little option but to throw in 17-year-old Greenwood (inset).

He has only started one league match but has scored twice in his last two games, including the opener as United went on to limp past League One Rochdale on penalties in the Carabao Cup this week.

Solskjaer said: “He has two great feet. He took his penalty with his right foot and he must be a nightmare for defenders.

“He can go both ways. He is fantastic, he has quality and he will get his share of games.

“But he is young and we will allow him to grow slowly but surely.

“He is going to be important for us this season.

“Get him inside the box and you know something is going to happen.”
