Vows to turn United around

under fire after just five goals in their last seven games.

Solskjaer admits this has become a major problem and has urged his flops to take more risks in attack.

He said: “Liverpool are doing well in the league that’s for sure but we’re looking forward to this. I think it’s the perfect game for our players, the perfect game for our fans.

“We’ve had a tough time lately, but we’ll give them a good game. I expect the players to come out and prove why they’re at Manchester United.

“We haven’t been adventurous enough. If you watch the best teams they take more risks with the ball, they make more runs in behind and that’s part of the process for the boys.

“When they’re losing confidence maybe they want to play it a bit more safe, but it’s not safety that does it here – at this club you do take risks.”

Solskjaer has also dismissed fresh speculation that Paul Pogba will look to secure a move to Real Madrid in January, after the Frenchman was pictured talking to Zinedine Zidane in Dubai.

He had been given some time off during the international break and was spotted in deep conversation with the Real boss, fuelling rumours he will push for a switch to the Spanish giants.

Pogba stunned United bosses in the summer when he said he might need a fresh challenge and has struggled for form and fitness during the start of the new season.

But Solskjaer claims the World Cup winner, who will join keeper David De Gea on the sidelines tomorrow, is happy at United, adding: “I’ve not heard Paul say once he doesn’t want to be here.

“He’s part of the plan moving forward and he knows this. He has been criticised left, right and centre, but he wants to play.

“He’s had a few days off. It’s just a photograph, that’s just the way it is when you play for Manchester United.”
