BRITS’ TRUE GRIT
Stars salute unsung heroes
STARS were out in force last night to support the country’s bravest and most inspirational people at this year’s Pride Of Britain Awards.
Former Corrie actress Helen Flanagan was among the top celebrities to strut their stuff on the red carpet at London’s Grosvenor Hotel.
This Morning host Holly Willoughby lent her support once again and was full of praise for the 2019 winners.
She said: “This is one of my favourite nights of the year.
“It’s so good to sit back and wallow in the awe of so many people doing such incredibly brave things.”
Great
The X Factor presenter Dermot O’Leary, who is on the judging panel of the Daily Mirror Pride Of Britain Awards, in partnership with TSB, added: “It’s a great night for humanity.”
Loose Women’s Christine Lampard was also part of the panel and said: “You’re reminded there are good people in the world, and that’s important.”
Other stars to grace the red carpet included Love Island winner Amber Gill, last year’s I’m A Celeb runner-up Emily Atack and boxer Nicola Adams.
Pride Of Britain celebrates extraordinary people who have shown incredible bravery and spirit. The winners are nominated by members of the public.
The show, celebrating its 20th anniversary, was hosted once again by Carol Vorderman. It will be screened on ITV next Tuesday night.
Davina McCall, who was presenting one of the awards, said: “It makes a change from all the depressing things we hear every day.”
