GEORGE Michael’s family are fuming at “spiteful” ex-boyfriend Fadi Fawaz who claims the tragic star had HIV when he died and was partying on drugs and with escorts.

GEORGE Michael’s family is fuming with ex-boyfriend Fadi Fawaz who claimed the star died after they discovered he had HIV.

Fadi, 46, unleashed a series of tweets yesterday. He said George – who died on Christmas Day 2016 aged 53 – found out he had become HIV positive when he fell sick on a trip with Fadi to Vienna.

Fawaz claimed the pop icon was a fraud who would pay other people to write his hit songs for him.

George’s family would not comment last night. But a source said Fadi’s wild statements were hurting the singer’s family.

The source said: “These spiteful actions are, and are obviously designed to be, hurtful to George’s family and his memory but, as the latest in a series of similar statements, speak for themselves.”

Fine art photographer Fadi smoked and gave the finger to our reporter in Covent Garden, London, yesterday morning.

In another message he claimed: “Friday night I would go to London so he could smoke crack and have escorts over. Sunday night would come home to Goring he would be still at it. So sad.”

The Daily Star tracked oliver.pritchard@dailystar.co.uk

Fadi down to a Travelodge in London where he has been staying since leaving George’s £5million Regent’s Park mews.

He told our reporter to “f*** off” repeatedly and said it “wasn’t our business”.

A couple of hours later, as he chain smoked in the street and drank coffee in a cafe opposite the hotel, he wrote: “Towards the end George Micheal (sic) smoked his crack using a water bottle.”

He offered no proof to any of the claims.
