TV PADDY BUST-UP

PADDY McGuinness lashed out after an “ignorant tool” tried to stop him parking in a blue badge space because his autistic twins “don’t look disabled”.

The Take Me Out host was dropping his children off at a play centre when he got into a furious argument.

And the dad-of-three, who had disabled blue badges on display in his car, admitted he had to “take a deep breath” to avoid the incident getting out of hand.

He tweeted: “Once they’d happily gone in I approached this ignorant tool.

Upset

“All I wanted to do was bounce him off every car but there would only be one loser in that, me!

“Instead I tried to explain to him that not all disabilities are the same.”

Paddy added: “The ignorance and sheer pomposity of telling someone they don’t look disabled really makes my blood boil! How does someone have to look to have a disability?”

The 46-year-old Top Gear star and wife Christine, 31, have six-year-old twins Leo and Penelope, who were both diagnosed with autism at the age of three.

Paddy admitted that, a few years ago, he would have hit the man, who was also parked in a disabled space but appeared to be able bodied.

But he wrote: “I would’ve been vilified and labelled a thug. My wife and children would’ve been upset and I’d more than likely be out of a job.

“I’m so glad I took that deep breath and handled the situation calmly.

“I feel better for it and hopefully that ignorant person might think twice next time or indeed learn that all disabilities are different.”

And he told followers: “If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, stay calm and educate the ignorant.

“You’ll feel better and you’ll still have a job to pay your mortgage and look after your family.”
