His ex-Crystal Palace teammate Mark Bright also claimed Ian had lots of phobias. Mark said: “He’s scared of the dark, he’s scared of everything!”

X FACTOR viewing figures have fallen below 3million for the first time in its history.

The celebrity version of the show on Saturday, featuring TV’s Mr Nasty Simon Cowell, drew an average audience of 2.9m.

The X Factor: Celebrity has been panned by critics and fans. It took another bashing on Saturday as Danny Dyer’s BBC game show The Wall pulled in an average of 4m.

Last night X Factor said when the ITV+1 figures were added the show did finally get more than 3m viewers.

But when this series launched last month it got an average of 4.8m viewers.

Show judge Cowell, 60, said about the series: “The important thing about why ITV is supporting us is that it’s the young people watching us. The 16 to 34 viewership is enormous – even bigger than Love Island.”
