ANY thoughts yet as to where you’ll go for your next summer holiday? Finland, maybe? I’m guessing probably not.

It’s a nation very few people seem to associate with summer breaks – or at least it has been up till now. But all that is about to change. Possibly.

And why’s that? Well, because to help promote Finland’s appeal as a year-round holiday destination, Lord Sugar is putting his finest twonks from THE APPRENTICE on the case.

Yes, quite. Tonight’s episode (9pm, BBC One) is the latest take on his ever-popular marketing/ advertising challenge, the one where each year’s teams get to create, among other absurdities, their own toe-curlingly terrible telly ads. (Last year they had to market their own make-believe airlines, remember? I’m still having nightmares).

To receive full details of the task, this latest bunch are summoned first to the London Stadium, a venue that hasn’t the remotest connection with Finland but which did undergo its own rebranding a while back (tenuous or what?).

But once again Lord S isn’t there to greet them in person. “I’ve been called away on urgent business,” he insists, not via a hologram this time but via a video on the big screen. He doesn’t explain what could possibly be more urgent than marketing Finland.

In other news, DOC MARTIN reaches the end of its current run (9pm, ITV) – and the doc finds out if he’s allowed to carry on practising.

Worrying times indeed. Strike him off and there’ll be riots in the streets of Portwenn.
