Schuey wife has stopped my visits
Ex-manager says wife stops him
MICHAEL Schumacher’s former manager has accused the Formula One ace’s wife of banning him from visiting his pal.
The seven-time world champion has been cared for away from the spotlight since he nearly died in a horrific 2013 skiing accident that left him in a medically induced coma.
Updates on his condition from his wife Corinna, right, have been few and far between, leaving his fans to fear the worst.
And now his old friend and manager Willi Weber says all is not what it seems behind the scenes at the Schumachers’ Swiss home near Lake Geneva.
The 77-year-old said: “I know Michael has been hit hard, but unfortunately I do not know what progress he makes.
“I’d like to know how he’s doing and shake hands or stroke his face. But unfortunately, this is rejected by Corinna.”
Willi is certain Schuey will eventually return to public life, adding: “I firmly believe in Michael’s recovery, because I know he is a fighter. If there is a chance, he will use it. That cannot be the end. I pray for him and am convinced that we will see him again.”
The claims come as Schumacher is believed to have undergone secret stem cell treatment in Paris.
The family gave an update as the Grand Prix champ turned
50 in January, saying: “You can be sure that he is in the very best of hands and that we are doing everything humanly possible to help him. “Please understand we are following Michael’s wishes and keeping such a sensitive subject as health, as it has always been, in privacy.” His son Mick, 20, is following in his dad’s footsteps and has been competing in F2 racing this season.
