Beauty queen Amaani Noor, 21, became a jihadi bride after splitting from Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo, 22, who is on loan at Rangers. She said she felt “worthless” when their four-year relationsh­ip ended after she found out he had been unfaithful.

She said: “I felt lost. As a single person I focused on my religion.’’ Noor started wearing a hijab and went on to marry a man with the username Hakim My Love who she met on instant messaging service Telegram, on her 20th birthday. She told him it was her “dream” to join him in Syria.

Noor expressed her support for “violent jihad” and said she did not have a problem “with people being killed justly” if they refused to follow Islam. The former Miss Teen GB semi-finalist, from Liverpool, wept as she was yesterday found guilty of funding terrorism by sending £35 to an Isis group. Liverpool Crown Court Judge Andrew Menary said: “Her life undoubtedl­y at some point changed dramatical­ly.” She will be sentenced on December 20.
