‘I SO NEARLY DIDN’T HAVE A MUMMY ANY MORE’ Girl’s letter to drink-driver

AN eight-year-old girl has written a moving letter to a drink-driver who “nearly killed my mummy”.

And Isabelle Elce, below, begged him: “Please don’t ever do that again.”

She penned the message to Tomasz Niedziela, who was almost twice the limit when he ploughed into Amelia Elce on the wrong side of the road.

The mum-of-two suffered head injuries and was taken to hospital covered in blood.

Isabelle’s letter said: “On that night when you drank alcohol and went in your car you nearly killed my mummy!

“She had blood pouring out of her head, and I nearly didn’t have a mummy any more. So please don’t ever do that again.”

A SCHOOLBOY is bidding to be the youngest person to fly around the globe on his own.

Travis Ludlow, 16, will set off on his three-month mission to beat the world record – currently held by an 18-year-old – next June. ★

The teen, of Ibstone, Bucks, said: “I have always had a fascinatio­n with flight.” the psychologi­cal effects of the crash on September 21.

The mum, of Mansfield, Notts, said: “I’m so proud of Isabelle. She took herself off to her bedroom and came back with it. It was amazing. We didn’t realise the impact it had on her. “She asked if we could send it to the driver but we told her that even if it didn’t reach him, if one person saw and read her letter on Facebook it might make them think twice.” Niedziela, 35, of Mansfield, admitted drink driving at the the town’s magistrate­s’ court. He was given a 20-month driving ban, fined £590 and paid a £59 victim surcharge.
