For other clubs the victory is to be as close to the top of the table as possible,” he said.

“Why not? We don’t have an easy game against Liverpool. The Evertonians knows my score against Liverpool.

“I think they will be happy for this.

“We beat Liverpool this season and it is a big motivation for us.”

Ancelotti has faced Klopp six times – all in the Champions League – and has three wins, a draw and two defeats.

Everton will also have to overcome the weight of recent history having not won at Anfield since 1999 or lifted any trophies since the FA Cup in 1995.

“They are not used to losing but I know how Everton supporters want to beat Liverpool,” he said.

“We don’t have to wait a lot – we have the game on January 5.”

He added with a grin: “When I was out in the city yesterday I met Liverpool fans and I think they are afraid. They are worried to see me because I beat them a lot of times.

“It will be tough but it is not a mission impossible. Nothing is impossible in football.”

BRENDAN RODGERS has urged the real Leicester to stand up when Liverpool visit on Boxing Day.

The Foxes boss has to pick his side up after their first defeat in 12 matches when they were outclassed by Manchester City.

Rodgers is pleased to be back at the King Power on Thursday, where Leicester are unbeaten this season.

He said: “We recognise it is another difficult game for us, however we are at home and we want to bring our true game.

“Manchester City are one of the super clubs now in European football and Liverpool next is another great test.

“But we are playing at home so the intensity of the crowd can help us as well.”
