FRUSTRATION AT SCHEDULE

-

COLD Feet’s stars had to race against the clock to get the new series completed on time.

Budget constraints bosses gave them a packed schedule.

James Nesbitt, who plays Adam, was frustrated they didn’t get more time to get it absolutely right.

He said: “It’s hard. Schedules are so tight now.

“I can’t tell you how punishing they are. It’s a f***ing nightmare.

“I wish we had shoot these things.

“It just drives me mad because people begin to think that if you can really tighten the schedule you can still make a good show then that’s how it should be done. “Where does that end?

“It can be frustrating at times but in terms of just being with those characters again and also finding new storylines for them meant really longer to and finding them.”

Despite the tough schedule, James loved reuniting with his co-stars for the show’s ninth series.

He added: “We had a right laugh this year because we were put into the situation where we obviously spent a lot of time together and it was rewarding.”

Since first appearing in Cold Feet in the late 90s, James has become one of television’s biggest names.

But the drama still holds a special place in his heart.

He said: “It was such an important part of my life. It opened so many doors for me, for all of us.

“Certainly, I wouldn’t be talking about anything I think with the same regularity as I do if it hadn’t been for Cold Feet.” ● The new series kicks off on Monday, January 13, at 9pm on ITV. new paths for
