A LUCKY lotto mum feels her £1milion win was a gift from her dead mother. Lizbet Ramus says Lavender “sprinkled magic dust” on her from Heaven.

A LUCKY mum who won a £1million lotto prize believes her late mother “sprinkled some magic dust” over her.

Lizbet Ramus, 55, was over the moon when she found her numbers had come up in the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker draw on Christmas Eve.

She believes her mum Lavender, 83, who died from an aneurysm last April, was looking down from Heaven and determined to save what would have been a nightmare Christmas.

Warehouse manager Lizbet said: “I think she has sprinkled some magic dust over me. She’s up there looking after me.

“She was a beautiful woman. We lost her in April and not a day goes by when I don’t think of her.

“It was the most difficult thing in the world.

“She was an amazing mum so I can’t help thinking this is her spreading a little Christmas magic at a time when I really needed it.”

Lizbet, from Shorehamby-Sea, West Sussex, went out and treated herself to a £70 coat from Next.

But the mum-of-one insists she does not intend to go over the top.

She even plans to carry on working as a sales and warehouse manager for her family’s business OPAS (Southern) Ltd.

“I am going to carry on working – keep my feet on the ground,” she said.

Elsewhere, a couple, from Stockton-on-Tees, Teesside, had a double cause for celebration as they scooped a £2m festive Lotto jackpot. Three days later, their 15-year-old son was cleared of cancer.
