MARCUS RASHFORD looks like winning his battle to be fit for Manchester United’s clash with Liverpool.

The England striker suffered a back injury during United’s FA Cup win over Wolves on Wednesday.

Rashford limped off 15 minutes after going on as a sub – with boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitting his decision to introduce him backfired.

He had treatment straight after the game and scans have revealed no serious damage.

between now and Sunday’s Anfield showdown. Though the management team have reservations about rushing him back so soon, the 22-year-old is expected to start – even if he requires a pain-killing injection. Solskjaer said: “He’s had trouble with the back lately but this is a different matter. We’ll do everything we can to get him fit for Sunday.” United are at loggerheads with Sporting Lisbon over the £50m signing of Bruno Fernandes.

The Old Trafford outift have agreed personal terms and were confident of completing a deal this week. But a fee has still to be agreed with Sporting president Frederico Varandas, who is keen to reduce his club’s debts and wants closer to £70m. Meanwhile, Ashley Young has won his battle with Manchester United to join Inter Milan. The former England defender is expected to link up with the Serie A giants this weekend after a fee of around £1.8m was agreed. He will sign an 18-month deal after a medical today.
