Blue Liam & Eric the Red

-

HE might be a Manchester City nut but Liam Gallagher has hired a Man United legend to appear in his latest video.

“King” Eric Cantona shows off his acting chops in Liam’s new vid for Once playing… a king. What else?

Despite his Blues allegiance, Liam asked the ex-footballer personally.

A source told me: “Cantona is a big Liam fan and mentioned last year that he loved the track, so Liam asked if he’d make a cameo appearance in the video for the song, which they shot last week.”

It’s time for Noel to start spitting feathers!

Check out Once now.

KESHA / High Road ★★★★

AFTER reflective comeback album Rainbow, Kesha is back to partying.

Taking in full-on gospel power ballads to video game music and – on The Potato Song – a trippy brass band waltz, the singer has a whole heap of fun doing whatever she wants, knowing she’s got the strong voice to master anything.

On Kinky, Kesha even “duets” with her old Ke$ha alias. It’s that kind of wild ride…

BLOSSOMS / Foolish Loving Spaces ★★★★

THE lads have found time to knock up 10 more excellent indie-pop tunes in a rare break from touring. They make summery vibes and earworm choruses seem easy, with huge tunes like Romance, Eh? and If You Think This Is Real Life. Don’t miss out, even though they will probably release another great album soon.

MEGHAN TRAINOR / Treat Myself ★★★★

THE Voice UK coach raises the bar on this collection of superior futuristic pop.

Wave sets the contemporary tone, and Trainor delivers more attitude on Babygirl and the red-hot groove of Funk.

Here To Stay shows she can do sensitive acoustic jazz too and, while Nicki Minaj puts in a great guest rap on Nice To Meet Ya, the star of this show is all Meghan.
