A PAY row is brewing at This Morning with presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield reportedly the only staff members getting a pay rise on the newlyextended programme.

The co-hosts were said to have received a bumper raise for working an extra half an hour each day since ITV revamped its morning schedule in January.

But no-one behind the camera benefitted financially.

Sources suggest some staff are grumbling that megabucks pair Holly, 38, and Phil, 57, should sacrifice some of their pay rise to free up cash for everyone else.

It has supposedly led to accusations that there is one rule for the talent and another for everyone else.

One insider said: “The rumour is that the amount that Holly and Phil have been given for their extra work totals more than the editor’s annual salary, believed to be around £130,000.”

An ITV spokesperson declined to comment yesterday, saying they do not discuss confidential contracts.

This Morning is said to have been given “extra staff resources” to cope with the longer hours.

Last year it was revealed that the show would be extended by half an hour from January 6 – it is now on 10am to 12.30pm.

years but last year reports suggested the pair had fallen out.

They claimed Phil had contributed to a “toxic” atmosphere and was jealous of his co-star after her stint on I’m A Celebrity.

The rumours were dismissed as “malicious gossip” by ITV and both of the stars agreed that any talk of a falling-out was wide of the mark.

Holly and Phil are currently presenting Dancing On Ice together.

ITV is embroiled in another mental health nightmare as Caprice Bourret claims she was “broken” by Dancing On Ice. Bosses confirmed that the 48-year-old had quit the show. Her publicist Billie Dee Gianfrancesco said: “Her mental wellbeing has been affected and recent stories leaked to the press are not only salacious but extremely hurtful.”

ITV has faced criticism over its care for participants on Love Island and The Jeremy Kyle Show. ●

KEVIN Kilbane last night became the latest celebrity to be eliminated while Libby Clegg pulled out of the episode with gastroenteritis.
