Tyron is still raring to go after virus KO blow INSIDER

TYRON WOODLEY insists he will be fighting this weekend – despite his showdown with Leon Edwards falling through.

The former welterweight king was scheduled to face the in-form Brit on Saturday night in the main event of UFC Fight Night 171 at London’s O2 Arena.

Woodley’s clash with the Birmingham brawler fell through on Sunday after UFC bosses decided to switch the entire card to the US in response to the coronavirus pandemic and Donald Trump’s Europewide travel ban.

The St Louis slugger has yet to be matched with a new opponent but he is adamant he’ll be in action somewhere this weekend.

“I’m fighting on Saturday,” Woodley said. “Who I’m fighting, I don’t know. I was willing to go to London. Only one of my cornermen was going to make it.

“I was gonna go into an empty arena with two people, I don’t give a f**k. I’ve been training, I’m in pure murder mode.”

Recent 170lb title challenger Colby

Covington expressed an interest in facing Woodley shortly after learning of Edward’s withdrawal from the fight.

Woodley, 37, is desperate to get his hands on his former American Top Team team-mate and put an end to their longstanding feud.

He said: “Colby Covington is my number one choice. If I can fight him, Lord, there is a heaven above.

“When they try to make things for my evil, they make things for my good. This will be my delight.”

As eager as he is to get his chance to silence the controversial Covington, Woodley doesn’t believe his former training partner will take the fight on such short notice.

He added: “That’s the fight I was supposed to get before Leon Edwards
