Stuck at home.. make it a date!

-

★ MILLIONS of couples are stuck indoors due to the coronavirus isolation. So we’ve put together a fun guide to having the ultimate “date night” at home – perfect if you and your live-in partner aren’t showing symptoms.

★ Here JAMES MOORE reveals his top ideas to guarantee some lockdown loving this weekend...

● Dress to impress: Just because you’re inside doesn’t mean you can’t dress up. Get suited and booted or pick your slinkiest outfit for the evening.

Make up some cocktails to really get into the swish vibe too – there are loads of apps to show you how.

● Food for thought:

Experts have found couples who cook together tend to stay together.

Follow a new recipe, maybe apeing dishes you’d usually eat out. Or make your own tasting menu with aphrodisiac foods like seafood and chocolate.

Don’t forget to feed each other to boost intimacy.

You could even re-create your favourite restaurant, whether it’s using candles and a tablecloth to pretend you’re in a posh eatery, or playing top Bollywood tracks while you tuck into that takeaway curry.

● Game on: Whether it’s challenging your other half to a console gaming session or cracking open the Scrabble, having a games night could be a winner.

Studies have found that couples who play games together increase levels of the bonding hormone oxytocin. You could even pep things up with a session of strip poker!

● Movie night: Turn the lights down low, get a bowl of popcorn to share and imagine you’re in the cinema. Go for a romantic flick or a funny one to boost the feel-good factor.

If possible do it all from the bed or get under the duvet on the sofa. A poll showed that couples with a TV in their bedroom have twice as much sex.

● You beauty! Get that spa-style atmosphere by spending the evening in bathrobes, while listening to some chill out tracks.

Offer to give each other a massage to make things more sensual or, with hairdressers and salons closed, have a go at doing each other’s beauty and grooming treatments like painting her nails or giving your man a shave.

● Sound plan: Can’t go to a gig or festival together? Livestream one instead. Elton John is set to host a star-studded virtual concert tomorrow.

Check out gigs.guide/ live for more events.

● Sex it up: Try out cheesy chat-up lines to get each other laughing and think about having sex in a different room.

Dig out that sexy lingerie, try role play or even make sexy films of each other.

Enjoy some pillow talk afterwards. A US study found it could increase your closeness.
