Tyson v Tyson
FURY & IRON MIKE IN CLASH OF CHAMPIONS
TYSON Fury is set to fight boxing icon Mike Tyson in a sensational exhibition scrap.
The British heavyweight champion claims to have accepted an offer to take on the 53-year-old legend for charity.
Iron Mike, who retired in 2005, has been showing off his toned physique in recent weeks as he prepares for a comeback.
And Gypsy King Tyson, 31, said the pair will be meeting in the ring. He told BT Sport: “Yeah, I had a phone call saying ‘would you like to fight Mike Tyson in an exhibition fight?’ I was like ‘hell yeah!’”
The showdown is believed to be one of a host of money-spinning fights for Iron Mike.
He is also being tipped for a rematch with old enemy Evander Holyfield.
And the former world champion has reportedly been offered £16million from the Bare Knuckle
Fighting Championship as well.
Fury said: “I think he’s (Mike Tyson) definitely serious about doing some fights or whatever, but he’s fought (Evander) Holyfield twice so they’re both old now. So I think they’re a bit long in the teeth.
“But who am I to say what anybody’s capable of? I wouldn’t try and kill anybody’s dreams.
“If they’re both fit to fight, medically fit, then let them do what they want to do. It’s their life, not mine.”
Fury was named after Iron Mike and the pair are big pals.
The American called the WBC champ “the greatest” following his win over Deontay Wilder, 34, in February in Las Vegas.
And he praised Fury for overcoming his battle with depression.
Iron Mike said: “With Tyson, if he didn’t go through everything he’s been through, he wouldn’t be the person that he is today.”
