STARS BACK FILMING ON CORRIE COBBLES

- ■ by BERNY TORRE berny.torre@dailystar.co.uk

A STUNNING rainbow illuminates the sky behind historic Corfe Castle.

The arc of colour seems to emerge from the hilltop ruins at the National Trust site in Dorset, where Edward the Martyr was murdered in 978 AD.

Elsewhere Amanda Cook captured a beautiful image, right, as rays warmed Bushy Park in west London. The dawn chorus broke as the mist cleared to reveal a lone deer in a golden sunrise.

CORRIE stars will return to the cobbles today to film for the first time since the lockdown started.

But they will have to observe strict social distancing in the Rovers Return and Roy’s cafe.

Michael Le Vell, who plays Kevin Webster, arrived early at the set in Trafford, Manchester, yesterday for a sneak preview.

But many of his co-stars will not be allowed to join him.

Strict new safety measures because of the Covid-19 pandemic mean actors and staff aged over

■ 70 – including Bill Roache, 88, who plays Ken Barlow – will not be allowed back.

Sue Nicholls (Audrey Roberts), Maureen Lipman (Evelyn Plummer), Barbara Knox (Rita Sullivan) and Malcolm Hebden (Norris Cole) will also be missing. Corrie boss Iain Macleod has said: “Safety remains our number one priority and we are under no illusions about the challenges still facing us.”

Meanwhile Hollyoaks bosses have revealed that the Channel 4 show will resume filming in Liverpool next month with cast and crew taking a health and safety induction before then.
