CRASH DRIVER HELD

A DAD and his two children were wiped out in a suspected drink-driving crash while on a Father’s Day dog walk.

Police named Joshua Flynn, 37, his son Coby-jay, 15, and 12-yearold daughter Skylar as the victims last night.

It is believed they were walking their dog Troy when they were mown down by a Peugeot 206 at around 2.30pm on Sunday.

They were all pronounced dead at the scene in Dalton, Cumbria, including the dog.

The driver, a 47-year-old man from the area, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drink driving.

He suffered injuries not thought to be serious and remained in custody yesterday.

Friends of the victims have paid tribute to them online, with one pal writing: “Josh was a school friend and a lovely guy. Sending so much love to the family at this completely devastatin­g time.”

A Justgiving page to raise money for the family has hit £7,000.

A spokesman for the police said: “We can confirm the three pedestrian­s who died following a collision on Abbey Road, Dalton, have been identified as Joshua James Flynn aged 37, and his son Cobyjay Flynn, aged 15, and daughter Skylar Flynn, aged 12, all from the local area.

“The beloved family dog Troy also died following the incident.

“Emergency services were called at around 2.30pm to the report of a road traffic collision involving one vehicle, a Peugeot 206, and three pedestrian­s.

“Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have dash-cam footage of the collision or the moments immediatel­y before or after.”
