ELTON JONG Trump plan to secure North Korea peace...with CD from Rocket Man
This is Your Song, Kim to help us sort a peace
DONALD Trump signed a copy of Elton John’s Rocket Man CD for Kim Jong-un in a bizarre bid to ease peace talks with the unstable North Korean dictator.
DONALD Trump was obsessed with giving Kim Jong-un a signed copy of Elton John’s Rocket Man during peace talks.
The US president has often insulted the tubby North Korean tyrant by calling him “Little Rocket Man”.
But he made presenting the gift a “high priority” as the countries thrashed out a deal in 2018 to show it was actually a compliment.
And bizarrely the CD was not autographed by the legendary pop star – but by Trump himself.
The claims are made by exadviser John Bolton in his tell-all book The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir.
He says that while Sir Elton was not involved in the gift, the President believed he would support it as it would give him some international press.
Bolton wrote: “The president said something like, ‘Boy, I bet Elton will get a kick out of this!’ It seemed like he hadn’t spoken to Elton in a while.
“I know from my conversations with the president that he finds it regrettable that he and Elton John haven’t been closer during his presidency.”
Bolton reveals the gift never made it to
Pyongyang because Kim was not at the talks with America’s Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
Bolton said: “Trump didn’t seem to realise Pompeo hadn’t actually seen Kim Jong-un when asking if Pompeo had handed the autographed CD to Kim. Pompeo had not. “Getting this CD to Kim remained a high priority for several months.”
