Maxwell ‘trafficked young girls for sex’
PAEDOPHILE Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged “fixer” Ghislaine Maxwell appeared in court last night.
The ex-girlfriend of the disgraced billionaire financier, who killed himself in jail while awaiting trial, was tracked down by the FBI in Bedford, New Hampshire, yesterday.
Maxwell, 58, daughter of the late media mogul Robert Maxwell, played a “critical role” in grooming and sexually abusing underage girls with Epstein, US prosecutors said.
She faces six counts including trafficking minors for sex, engaging in illegal sex with them and Epstein, and perjury for later denying it. She waived her right to a bail hearing.
Maxwell has denied any wrongdoing. Acting US ey Audrey Strauss said:
“Maxwell lied because the truth as alleged was almost unspeakable.
“Maxwell enticed minor girls, got them to trust her, then delivered them into the trap she and Epstein had set for them.”

The abuse allegedly took place in Epstein’s properties in New York, Florida and New Mexico and at Maxwell’s London home.
Ms Strauss also said she would “welcome” Epstein’s ex-pal the Duke of York “coming in to talk with us”.
But a source close to Andrew said last night: “The Duke’s team remains bewildered given that we have twice communicated with the DOJ in the last month, and to date, we have had no response.”
One of the teenage victims, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, alleges Andrew had sex with her on three separate occasions, including when she was 17. He denies any contact with her. attorn
