POP star Duffy has accused Netflix of “glamorising” rape, kidnap and sex trafficking in its movie 365 Days.
The Welsh singer revealed earlier this year she was drugged, raped and held captive overseas for four weeks.
In a letter to Netflix boss Reed Hastings she blasted the film about a mafia boss who kidnaps a woman and gives her a year to fall in love with him.
Duffy, 36, said: “365 Days glamorises the brutal reality of sex trafficking, kidnapping and rape.
“This should not be anyone’s idea of entertainment. I was lucky to come away with my life but far too many have not been so lucky.”
The Polish movie has become a hit since its release in June, with some comparing it to 50 Shades of Grey.
A petition calling for it to be removed was signed by thousands of people.
But Michele Morrone, who plays the mafia boss Massimo alongside Annamaria Sieklucka’s victim Laura, said a sequel is in the works. Earlier this year, Mercy singer Duffy told how she was drugged and spirited abroad in an ordeal several years ago.
She said: “The perpetrator raped me.
“I contemplated running away to the neighbouring city or town, as he slept, but had no cash and I was afraid he would call the police on me, for running away, and maybe they would track me down.”
