HE’S BACK WITH A SUMMER BANGER

-

HE was dubbed the sound of quarantine – now

is back to sing us out of lockdown.

The DJ follows Top 10 earworm Lonely with Head & Heart, which is bound to become the soundtrack to pub gardens opening again.

Joel told me: “It’s perfect timing, we didn’t plan it but when I heard the pubs are opening I was like, ‘Wooo let’s go!’

“Lonely was at the peak when lockdown happened and everyone was messaging me saying it was their quarantine anthem.

“Now I hope everyone loves this track and it brings back some positivity this summer.

“Unfortunately, we haven’t got clubs or festivals or events, which is really weird for me as it is the first time I have brought out a track without a dancefloor first. But I like the idea that Head

Corry Joel

& Heart is the banger for barbecues and summer parties.”

Joel normally lives in clubs and he is adamant the scene will bounce back stronger than ever next year: “I think people are going to be on such a buzz, I think it will be the best parties ever, so I am not too worried.

“Those first initial parties back, wow they are going to be amazing.”

And he’s itching to get back behind his decks: “I will be Dj-ing seven nights a week, trust me, I have really missed it, but it has made me appreciate it and realise how lucky I was to do the job I love doing.

“So when it does come back next year, or whenever, I am going to celebrate every moment.”

The new tune is a collab with hitmaker MNEK and Joel can’t wait to perform it: “MNEK doing his thing gets me so excited.”

ALREADY a favourite on Youtube and Tiktok, this multi-instrumentalist is about to transcend social media with his musical storytelling.

Cork-born Cian is on the brink of great things having just signed a huge US record deal with Interscope on the back of his much-loved single, F***ed Up

All The Time. Now he returns with a moving new song titled Hurt So

Bad, which recounts the tragedy of a pal’s miscarriage.

Cian told me: “I tried to tell the story in her words and express it for her, it was really moving for us both.” His debut album is under way but first he will release a new mixtape, Started In College, this Friday. It is the culmination of his musical journey moving to London and becoming an internet sensation before hitting the big time (hopefully).

AJ Tracey and

Mabel’s single West Ten is on course to score the highest new entry on this week’s Official Singles Chart.

Jawsh 685 remains favourite for the top spot for a second week with Savage Love.
