CHELSEA should thank their lucky stars Willian agreed to stay on for the rest of the season.

And even though he is 32 next month, they should be doing everything they can to keep him.

The Brazilian was everywhere, creating goals for Olivier Giroud and Christian Pulisic, before Tammy Abraham hit a third after coming off the bench.

If Chelsea make it back into the Champions League, Willian will have played no small part in it, after leading their recent surge up the table.

He now has four goals and three assists in six games since the restart and 11 and nine in

total in all competitions this season.

No wonder boss Frank Lampard loves him and wants him to stay.

The arrivals of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and who knows who else could still drive him out.

But if Willian does leave on a free transfer, whoever lands him will be getting one hell of a player,

NATHAN JONES says Luton must take at least nine points from their last four games to have any chance of Championship survival.

The Hatters were heading towards a vital win thanks to Luke Berry’s 14th-minute goal but sub Aapo Halme levelled six minutes from the end.

Luton boss Jones said: “I’m devastated we couldn’t get the win.

“We need to win at least three now. But we’ll keep fighting, the boys are giving me everything.”

Berry fired home the rebound after Elliot Lee had hit a post but Barnsley should have been level before the break as Conor Chaplin missed a sitter.

Hatters keeper Simon Sluga then made two magnificent stops to foil Cauley Woodrow.

Luton looked to be seeing the game out but failed to clear a disputed corner allowing Halme to bundle home.

There was still time for Harry Cornick to miss a one-on-one for the hosts with Luton now four points from safety and the Tykes one point better off.

Barnsley boss Gerhard Struber said: “We lost two points. We had so much control in the first half. But we will never give up.”
