Harry gives it best shot

- ■ by JAMES NURSEY

SCOTT PARKER hailed Fulham’s new-found grit after brother-in-law Harry Arter’s spectacular winner.

The midfielder’s 45th-minute left-foot screamer gave his side their third successive win in a scrappy game.

Parker was delighted to see his side grind out the points without suspended top scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic and injured skipper Tom Cairney.

Victory keeps Fulham in with a shout of a top-two finish with four games left, including a trip to second-placed West Brom.

Cottagers boss Parker, married to Arter’s sister Carly, said: “It is a big result for us.

“I am very proud of them because they showed that other side to dig in deep and show a desperation.

“It wasn’t vintage us but to win at your closest rivals is pleasing.

“We needed goals to come from other areas of the pitch to keep getting results.

“Harry has done that with two goals in three games. It was a great finish, worthy of winning any football match.

“I am sure it is extra special for the family back home too.”

Fulham’s Bobby Decordova-reid shot over from distance before Arter’s left-foot shot on the turn broke the deadlock.

The Ireland midfielder got a break when his pass was intercepted by Ben Watson but he smashed the rebound in.

Unimpressed Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi made four changes in the first 18 minutes of the second half.

The hosts became more dangerous as Alfa Semedo tested Marek Rodak with a shot and Nuno Da Costa had a header on target.

But they simply did not create enough.

Lamouchi said: “We conceded the goal in the worst moment.

“We didn’t find the solution. It is not a good result but the players are not machines.”
