Hero Glee mum
NAYA USED LAST ENERGY TO SAVE DROWNING SON
BRAVE Naya Rivera died heroically saving her young son, investigators believe.
The Glee star, 33, used her last ounce of energy to help little Josey flee the killer currents that claimed her own life.
Police found the four-year-old alone in a pontoon boat.
Divers discovered Naya’s body in Lake Piru, California, on Monday after she was missing for days. Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub believes she managed to “muster” enough energy to push her son out of the water.
But she then tragically succumbed to its deadly pull as she had nothing left.
He said in a press conference: “There are a lot of currents on the lake that appear particularly in the afternoon.
“We believe it was midafternoon when she disappeared, the idea perhaps being that the boat started drifting, it was unanchored, and that she mustered enough energy to get her son back on to the boat, but not enough to save herself.
“Based on the location where the body was found, physical characteristics of the body, clothing found on the body and the physical condition of the body, as well as the absence of any other persons reported in the area, we are confident the body we found is that of Naya Rivera.”
Her grieving Glee co-stars gathered at Lake Piru to pay their respects.
And Jane Lynch, who played coach Sue Sylvester, said: “What a force you were.
“Love and peace to your family.”
Chris Colfer, who starred as Kurt Hummel, added: Her brilliance and humour were unmatched.
“Her beauty and talent otherworldly.” boy sleeping
