Economy ‘back to the ’80s’

THE economy may take four years to recover – with three million people thrown out of work.

The UK is set to record the largest drop in its gross domestic product “for 300 years” amid calls for Chancellor Rishi Sunak to help firms.

Expert James Smith said unemployment is “projected to match, or surpass, its 1980s peak”.
