PLANS are being drawn up for the next ALOTO road trip.

But it looks set to take place in the UK not overseas because of the Covid-19 restrictions.

TENNIS champion Andy Murray would be the first to admit he rarely cracks a smile.

And the Wimbledon star even agreed with a critic who called him “as dull as a weekend in Worthing”. But the cast of Sky One’s A League Of Their Own reckon Andy, left, is a real comedian away from the courts and could even have a career as a stand-up. Andrew “Freddie”

Flintoff, Jamie Redknapp and Romesh Ranganathan were shocked at how funny the Scotsman was when he appeared as a guest on the new series of their comedy panel game show.

Freddie quipped: “How good was he? He was iconic. We thought we’d got his brother Jamie Murray for a minute. We thought it was the wrong one.”

Romesh added: “I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say you have never seen Andy Murray like he is on this show. He can talk. He could be a stand-up. He’s crazy.”

Other guests joining the trio for the new series include Tony Bellew, Eddie Hearn, Sam Quek and Anthony Joshua.

Romesh joked that Bellew is a gas too.

He added: “I wasn’t expecting him to be as funny as he is.

“I don’t think he realises what he is doing. He hasn’t got a clue.”

SOCIAL distancing was the order of the day for the new ALOTO series.

Games had to be changed as they were too touchyfeely, the desks had to be longer and the guests were placed further apart.

The new rules were welcomed by Jamie, though, who joked: “I’ve not missed Freddie trying to de-bag me.”

Fred admitted: “I’ve seen so opportunities and know I can’t.”

The pandemic also put paid to regular host James Corden jetting in from the US to join his pals, so the panellists took turns to present the show. many

COMEDIAN Romesh Ranganthan, left, broke his wrist trying to ride a BMX bike on the show.

He moaned that fellow hosts Freddie and Jamie showed no sympathy towards him even when he was “on gas and air for the pain”.

Redknapp joked: “Romesh was like ET on that BMX.”
